ONE health lesson Freddie Freeman’s story taught me

As a young boy, MLB Player Freddie Freeman, faced losing his father two years after the death of his mom.

His father, Fred Sr, widowed and trying to fill two parental roles, was depressed and gained a ton of weight and it took a toll on his health.

After a rushed visit to the ER, Dr’s told Fred Sr, “IF you want to see your boys grow-up, you will need to take better care of yourself.”

At that moment Fred Sr realized he had to make a commitment and honoring it would require drastic lifestyle changes immediately.

Watching this story brought tears to my eyes because I thought of my own mom and how many times her Dr’s and I told her to do better with her health yet she struggled.

As Health, Wellness & Fitness Providers, our job is to tell our clients and patients the truth because it might save their life and make a profound difference to them long-term.

This story is what has pushed me to help Providers who desire to make a bigger difference to those they serve.

Next time you’re having that difficult conversation with a client, think of this story, be candid and tactful and tell them the truth.

If you struggle with this, why not learn how understanding genetic natural behavior can help you.
